About Me

This Is Me

Part Cali girl and part Southern peach.

Saved by grace; changed by His always faithful love.

Jesus follower.

Friend hugger.

Adventure seeker and travel junkie.

I recently married my best friend and favorite travel buddy, J (a stinkin’ talented photographer), and moved from my beloved Nashville to sunny San Diego. J and I met back in high school at a camp where we both worked and then reunited 11 years later thanks to someone posting a picture on good ol Facebook. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m a graphic designer and illustrator, running my own freelance design company called The Visual Republic. I drool over good design and dream of creating my own line of textiles and home goods.

Being a newlywed has revived my love for cooking, so every night I’m trying a new recipe and getting either a thumbs up or thumbs down from the hubby. I dream of being a decent surfer girl and exploring just about anywhere outside of the good ol U-S-of-A, of hiking mountains and playing in river and oceans, of visiting new cultures meeting new people.

I am have the profound privilege of being a blogger for Compassion International, helping them get out the word about child poverty and, in the process, hopefully get more children sponsored so that they have a brighter future.

Enjoy my collection of stuff that makes my mouth water, my eyes dance with delight and my heart happy. Viva Good.

“I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, To put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die Discover that I had not lived.” (Henry David Thoreau: Walden)

Thanks for sending me the link to your blog…Jason has married a truly amazing young lady! Loved the pix of your Christmas tree and the gingerbread train, and also the recipes. I’m so happy for Jace that you love to cook! And happy for us that you are in our family. I hope that wasn’t you that woke up w/vertigo (under the tweet tweet section).
    love you both,
    Linda
