I Heart Whole Foods Market! Win a Picnic Giveaway Here…

One of the best things about living in San Diego is watching the sunset over the ocean. It’s practically an official event here. This past weekend J and I headed over to the Whole Foods Market in La Jolla and picked up one of their summer picnics and headed to Del Mar to watch the sunset (I still pinch myself that I get to live in such an AMAZING place). It was such a great way to spend the evening. Not only was the scenery so beautiful, but the picnic dinner was so tasty!

We decided to go with their All-American Picnic which came with chicken (fried or rotisserie, your pick), grilled corn on the cob, potato salad, fruit skewers and chocolate cake. It was oh so good! The fruit was perfectly ripe, the potato salad rich and speckled with bacon, the chicken and corn seasoned and cooked to perfection and the cake…. oh my. I have a feeling J and I will be fighting over the last piece of cake later tonight. It was delicious. We added one of my favorite sides to the combo as well just because I couldn’t stand not eating some once I saw it in the store — Smoked Mozzarella Pasta. Try it. You will love it.

I fell in love with Whole Foods Market when I lived in Nashville and they opened up in Green Hills, and I have been a fan ever since. I can’t get enough of their homemade guac, their amazing salad bar and the smoked mozzarella pasta salad you can get in their fresh food section. YUMMMMM! And that’s just the beginning. I love Whole Foods SO much that I even seriously considered having them cater our wedding! Did you know that they cater? Yep.They can handle everything from your small sunset picnics to your huge event.

So here’s the really good news.

  5. Whole Foods is the best! The delicious, healthy food and wonderful staff are amazing. But even more so is how much good they do for the world – helping local farmers & communities, giving back to local non-profits, creating better food standards like their gap scores, working with developing nations… It’s so much more than just a grocery store and I feel so good shopping there. 🙂

  6. Amazing … to read about this “giveaway” after spending a couple of hours there myself this very afternoon shopping for my Vegan children (Ryan 29 yrs. old, his wife: Charmaine 28 yrs. old, and their new baby Miranda 11 weeks old) who will be flying down from Portland, Oregon to visit us in Bay Park tomorrow for their annual Summer trip timed concurrently with Comic Con. Ryan has been going since he was 12 years old.
I had foot surgery three weeks ago, so my twin sister: Emily, drove me up. I was dreading the walking up and down the aisles in this huge clunky boot I have to wear. However, just for the heck of it … I asked Jason V., an employee there if he would help me shop.
Well … as you and I BOTH know …
THERE IS No place like Whole Foods, La Jolla!
Jason took my list ($165.00 long) and shopped for all the products that had been emailed to me (and printed out) while I checked out their beautiful flowers and nice wine departments.
IN the end … Jason, Emily (my driver), and I each ordered delicious sandwiches fresh from the WF Bakery/Deli. OF COURSE we treated Jason to his yummy sandwich.
    Only at Whole Foods.
