I love our little apartment. It is, by no means, a dream place — I dream of spacious countertops and living room just bigger so that you can actual walk around the coffee table and ottoman, not step on TOP of them to get around — but it is cozy, blocks from the beach and, in my opinion, well-decorated. I had a lot of furniture when we got married and pretty much all of it came with me so our place looks quite a bit like my old home in Nashville.
And then there is our bedroom.
It’s not bad. It’s just that it’s not a haven yet, either. For the first year of our marriage we’ve has mis-matched nightstands and lamps, along with a falling-apart quilt and stained sheets. It’s nothing that we can’t live with, but this creative mind has many dreams for our room.
So I’ve decided it’s time for a couple of changes. First step – new nightstands! We’ve been searching high and low for some vintage industrial nightstands for a few months now because we really love that style but everything has been SO expensive. We love things like this from Restoration Hardware:
and this from Etsy:
but everything we found was well out of our budget. Until we saw this… a copycat vintage industrial side table on Overstock. Sure, the wood isn’t actually reclaimed wood but who cares when it looks just like the real deal for a fraction of the price!
These babies were delivered last Friday and I finally have a little bit of symmetry in our bedroom… which makes this graphic designer’s eyes happy. The next step will probably be matching lamps since they will be easier to find that the perfect mustard yellow, charcoal gray and white bedding that I’ve dreamed up for our bed!
